Debuted in 1989 at the Frankfurt Motor show, the BMW 850 became an instant 'modern classic' with many regarding it as BMW’s first supercar. The sheer size of the vehicle certainly caught the attention of many with its swooping front end and wide rear exterior body. The retro-good look is backed up with its impressive low drag co-efficient, the same as a Porsche 918; which was designed on a computer, quite the novelty back in the 1980’s.
BMW’s Flagship model equipped with a V12 engine set an industry standard for grand tourers back in 1991. The silky smooth automatic gearbox certainly emphasises this.
This particular example has BMW’S Royal Blue paint exterior with a grey leather interior specification. The car also features 18-inch Alpina wheels fitted with low profile tyres to provide a ‘sportier’ look and a modernised touch. Further emphasised with a factory fitted rear spoiler (Only available on CI models) and side chrome V12 badges. Our 850 has recently undergone an exclusive 7-stage detailing process to revitalise the paintwork.
BMW 850s are undoubtedly increasing in rarity and value; with only 69 vehicles remaining on the road, providing an investment opportunity that will increase exponentially especially with the recent introduction of the new 8-series.
